Summary:imageThe Sustainable Development Commission fully understands the economic and competitive pressures in planning the future of air transport. However we believe that there is a real opportunity for the UK to take a leadership role in determining how economic aspirations need to embrace the universal desire for a better quality of life in the round. The principles of sustainable development are central to this, and in this report we as a Commission offer our views on the implications of sustainable development for the future development of air transport in the UK.
