| Summary: |  This paper is the first stage in our work on sustainable food production, and is intended to inform the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food. The remit of the Farming and Food Commission is limited to England; but we believe the same broad objectives should also underpin future policy in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We have also developed an appraisal tool, which will be used to assess policy proposals against a set of sustainability criteria. |
