Sustainable Development in Government Report '06

Covering an area of half a million hectares, emitting over three million tonnes of CO2 and with direct responsibility for more than £13 billion, the UK Government is required to meet sustainability targets to ensure its resources are managed responsibly and our money spent wisely.

Given that Government wants the public sector to be a leading exponent of sustainable development and that this is the fifth such assessment of Government operations, overall performance is hugely disappointing.
