Departments and Executive Agencies are required to produce annual progress reports, to demonstrate the progress they have made against their SDAPs. To help departments and agencies produce quality reports, the SDC has produced self-assessment guidance. The guidance encourages organisations to:
• Report progress against actions/commitments in the SDAP
• Consider the contribution these actions would make to commitments in Securing the Future
• Consider how well SD had been embedded across the organisation
• Gauge progress on sustainable procurement
• Identify what had helped and hindered the organisation in delivering its SDAP
» SDAP progress reporting guidance (May 2008)
From 2008, the SDC requests that organisations also complete a Progress Report Summary sheet using the SDC's template:
» Progress Report Summary template
In 2007, departments and agencies reported on their progress against the commitments in their first SDAPs (which were published between 2005-2006) as required by Securing the Future.
The SDC wrote a commentary to accompany each progress report, highlighting areas of good or poor progress, and setting each department challenges for the coming year. The commentaries do not review the content of the original SDAPs. As such, comments should not be taken as an endorsement of actions and policies pursued.
All information reported was the organisation’s own judgement of performance, and this was not verified by the SDC.
