Effective engagement is essential to the development of truly sustainable policy-making, therefore a significant part of the SDC’s major tidal power project is public and stakeholder engagement.
Engagement is particularly important for understanding new technologies such as tidal power, as to many the new technologies represent an unknown quantity.
To fully understand the implications and impacts of the proposed tidal technologies, the SDC will engage with a range of stakeholders through a comprehensive programme. In Scotland, engagement events are taking place in Aberdeen, Inverness and Orkney.
The engagement programme will inform and support the tidal power project, and the development of the SDC’s position and recommendations.
