The Sustainable Development Commission has published its statutory Welsh Language Scheme, developed with and approved by the Welsh Language Board. The Scheme sets out what services the public can expect from the Commission through the medium of Welsh – including publications, telephone and email enquiries and public meetings. It replaces the voluntary scheme which the SDC has used until now.
The Commission has agreed to a timetable to make the necessary changes. The short term priorities are to publicise the scheme, update the Wales websites and to appoint a senior member of staff as scheme co-ordinator.
