Testing to start on the Good Corporate Citizenship Assessment Model for NHS Scotland
14 October 2009
The first draft of the Good Corporate Citizenship Assessment Model (GCCAM) for NHS Scotland will shortly be available for testing. User testing workshops will be held for the two pilot boards NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Grampian.
During the last months SDC has been adapting the revised English Good Corporate Citizenship Assessment Model (GCCAM) tool for Scotland, and consulting with a Stakeholder Reference Group via workshops. The Reference Group consists of representatives from the Scottish Government, NHS Scotland, Building Research Establishment, The Glasgow Centre for Population Health, The Scottish Health Council and Sustainable Scotland Network. They provided support and technical advice to SDC during the adaptation of the tool.
SDC will be holding GCCAM workshops with NHS Grampian and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to user test the model. These workshops will be attended by a mix of executives, managers and officers from across the Boards and will look in detail at the 6 topic areas transport, procurement, facilities management, employment & skills, community engagement and new buildings.
The workshops will help create an internal networking platform, introduce the tool and gather feedback on the tool and the 6 topic areas to ensure the whole model is suitable for NHS Scotland.
The finalised Scottish GCCAM will be available online from mid-January 2010. It will then be rolled out across Scotland with a series of learning and peer support events in 2010. Competition will no doubt be stiff for a new sustainability award for the best performing NHS board in Scotland to be announced in November 2010!
