In this section, we provide an introduction to some of the tools, levers and mechanisms that financial decision-makers in local government can use to progress sustainable development. We also provide links to more detailed information, toolkits and resources. Being an introduction, this section is by no means comprehensive; sustainable development in any case remains a developing concept in relation to local government finance where there are not always clear and proven methods, tools or examples of best practice. |
